In Malta you drive on the left side. Most cars have manual transmission (stick).
Unless otherwise posted, the speed limits for cars and motorcycles are as follows: 25-45 km/h (15-27 mph) in all built-up areas and 60-80 km/h (37-49 mph) on undivided highways.
Left turn on red lights is strictly forbidden unless an additional green semaphore arrow allows it.
It is illegal to drive with blood alcohol content higher than 0.08%.
Petrol (unleaded) gas options are called Petrol bla comb (95/98), Super or petrol bla comb. Petrol costs about €1.33 per liter.
Diesel option is called Dizil. Diesel costs about €1.20 per liter.
Most popular petrol stations in Malta are Enemed, Falzon Group and Petrol.
