By car
In Cyprus you drive on the left side. Most cars have manual transmission (stick).
Unless otherwise posted, the speed limits for cars and motorcycles are as follows: 100 km/h (62 mph) on motorways, 100 km/h (62 mph) on expressways, 50 km/h (31 mph) in all built-up areas and 80 km/h (49 mph) on undivided highways.
Left turn on red lights is strictly forbidden unless an additional green semaphore arrow allows it.
It is illegal to drive with blood alcohol content higher than 0.05%.
Petrol (unleaded) gas options are called Βενζίνη Αµόλυβδη (Bentsini amolibdi) 95/98/100 or βενζίνη. Petrol costs about €1.08 per liter.
Diesel options are called Diesel Plus, diesel or ντίζελ. Diesel costs about €1.11 per liter.
Most popular petrol stations in Cyprus are Agip, EKO, Eni, Esso, Lukoil, Petrol, Petrolina, Shell and Total.
